One in thirty people in the world is a migrant (source: Caritas). This disconcerting figure has opened the meeting “Costruttori di Futuro” (Future’s builders) to which we had the honor to participate yesterday, November 15th, 2018, at the center of youth aggregation MaTeMù/Cies Onlus.
Two young and far-sighted entrepreneurs with a strong social vocation preceded us in the panel: Lorenzo Leonetti of Caffè Nemorense and Andrea Fassi of the homonymous ice cream shop, committed to creating opportunities for migrants’ professional inlcusion.
Eleonora Perotti, President of CIAPE, shared with the audience the work that the Center has been carrying out for years to promote the exploitation of entrepreneurial skills acquired in non-formal contexts (You-ME) and the full professional and social inclusion of migrants (New Start) through innovative methodologies, able to empower the individuals involved (IMAEFE). The event was closed by the President of Cies Onlus, Elisabetta Melandri, underlining the importance of the commitment of non-profit actors for resistance to rampant xenophobia.
